1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Tai (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms & Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email. Continued use of Tai after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
2. Eligibility / 18+ Requirement
Tai is only available to individuals who are 18 years of age or older. You confirm during sign-up that you meet this age requirement. If we learn that a user is under 18, their account will be closed.
3. Nature of Tai
Tai is a warm emotional companion designed for reflection, journaling-style conversation, and gentle daily support. Tai is delivered through WhatsApp and a private web interface.
Tai uses an AI model to help generate replies. Replies are generated based on limited recent context from your session.
4. Tai Is Not Medical or Mental Health Care
Tai is not a therapist, doctor, clinician, emergency service, or substitute for professional care. Tai does not diagnose, prescribe, or provide medical, psychiatric, legal, or clinical advice. Tai is not a crisis line.
If you are in danger, in crisis, or having thoughts of harming yourself or others, please contact your local emergency services or a trusted person right away. You can also reach out to a licensed mental-health professional for ongoing support.
5. User Responsibilities
You agree that:
- You will provide accurate information about yourself.
- You will not use Tai to harass, threaten, or harm others.
- You will not attempt to misuse, scrape, attack, or reverse-engineer the Service.
- You understand that conversations with Tai are intended to be personal and reflective, not professional advice.
6. WhatsApp Messaging
Tai uses the WhatsApp Business Platform to send and receive messages. WhatsApp messaging is governed by Meta's policies in addition to these Terms. Standard messaging-window rules apply: if you have not messaged Tai recently, daily messages may be delivered using approved WhatsApp templates rather than free-form text.
Tai never sends marketing-category templates to your WhatsApp number without your consent.
7. Subscription and Payments
Some Tai features may require a subscription. Subscription billing is handled by a third-party payment processor (for example System.io). Tai does not store credit-card details on its own servers. Billing disputes should be raised first with the payment processor and then with us at the address below.
You can cancel or change your subscription according to the provider's terms. After cancellation, certain features may become unavailable, but your account data is retained per our Privacy Policy.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes what information Tai collects, how it is used, and how you can clear your private web session. Conversation data is minimized; admins do not see the contents of your private conversations.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tai and its operators provide the Service “as is” and without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Nothing in these Terms removes any rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
10. Changes to Terms
We may revise these Terms occasionally. We will note the effective date at the top of the page and, when changes are material, we may ask you to re-accept them in the Service. If you do not agree to updated Terms, you must stop using Tai.
